- **Eye pressure:** measured without touching the eye with a short puff of air, no drops.
- **Corneal map:** topography and Scheimpflug scanning for thickness and curvature; used for keratoconus screening and laser suitability.
- **Quality of vision:** wavefront analysis separates corneal from lens error; weighed when choosing between laser and lens exchange.
- **Retina and optic nerve:** OCT, colour fundus photography and visual field testing detect macular, glaucoma and diabetes-related changes before the patient notices them.
- **Optical biometry:** calculates intraocular lens power when surgery is planned.
