Formation médicale : Dr Reşat Belger Beyoğlu Eye Training and Research Hospital (2005-2008), Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu Training and Research Hospital de Nicosie (2003-2005) et Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine (enseignement en anglais) (1995-2001). Dr Baylançiçek parle anglais et français et applique des méthodes modernes de traitement des yeux.
Approche de l'examen et du traitement
Le parcours de chaque patient commence par un examen ophtalmologique approfondi : l'acuité visuelle, la pression intraoculaire, l'évaluation de la cornée et de la rétine ainsi que les éventuels examens d'imagerie sont réalisés lors de la même visite. La décision thérapeutique repose sur ces mesures, sur l'âge du patient, sur les distances de vision dont il a le plus besoin au quotidien et sur son état de santé général ; les options, les résultats attendus et les risques possibles sont discutés avec le patient. Lorsqu'une chirurgie est nécessaire, la préparation préopératoire et les contrôles postopératoires sont assurés par la même équipe.
Examens réalisés lors de la consultation
Un examen ophtalmologique ne se limite pas à déterminer une correction : la décision thérapeutique repose sur des mesures de l'œil lui-même. Ces examens sont réalisés lors de la même visite ; ils sont indolores et la plupart ne touchent jamais l'œil.
- Réfraction et courbure cornéenne : la première mesure automatisée ; la correction déterminée pendant l'examen s'appuie sur elle.
- Pression intraoculaire : mesurée sans toucher l'œil ; un bref souffle d'air, sans collyre.
- Carte de la cornée : la topographie et l'imagerie Scheimpflug donnent l'épaisseur et la courbure ; le dépistage du kératocône et l'éligibilité au laser reposent sur cette carte.
- Qualité de vision : l'analyse du front d'onde distingue la part du défaut qui provient de la cornée de celle qui provient du cristallin ; c'est cette mesure qui est prise en compte pour choisir entre le laser et le remplacement du cristallin.
- Rétine et nerf optique : coupes OCT, photographie couleur du fond d'œil et examen du champ visuel ; les modifications liées à la macula, au glaucome et au diabète apparaissent avant que le patient ne les remarque.
- Biométrie optique : lorsqu'une chirurgie est prévue, la puissance de l'implant intraoculaire est calculée à partir de ces mesures.

Expérience
En exercice depuis 2001 et avec plus de 33 000 cas, Dr Baylançiçek exerce à Kudret Eye Istanbul, au sein du groupe Kudret Eye. Parlant anglais et français, Dr Baylançiçek prend également en charge le parcours d'examen et de traitement des patients venant de l'étranger.
