Especially people who have to use glasses and lenses but do not want to do so seek different treatment methods. Although the first method that comes to mind for this is laser eye surgery, some patients are not suitable for this surgery. Multifocal lenses are usually recommended for patients who are not suitable for laser eye. The functions of multifocal lenses include the following:

How are Multifocal Lenses Placed in the Eye?

Questions such as how to use multifocal lenses or how to place them in the eye are frequently encountered. Multifocal lenses can be adjusted according to the needs of the person. It is important to be examined by an ophthalmologist before this surgery. Before the surgery, some tests are performed to calculate the power (strength) of the lens to be implanted. If there is any inflammation or similar condition in the eye, these are treated first. Antibiotics and eye drops may be recommended in this process. If the patient is suitable for surgery, surgery is planned. The patient is not hospitalised after the surgery. In the operation, the lens is placed in the eye in about 15-20 minutes per eye without general anaesthesia. The eyes are usually operated on separate days, most often the next day; if the surgeon considers it suitable, both can be done on the same day. During the operation, the eye is numbed with anaesthetic eye drops and the patient does not feel anything. This procedure is a delicate procedure and is completed with highly specialised, technological devices. After the operation, the eye is bandaged appropriately. One day after this procedure, you should go to the doctor's control. This procedure, which is performed on one eye, is also performed on the other eye. There is no need to stitch the eye after the operation. Pain after the operation is usually mild. There may be discomfort in the eye, but this is normal. In case of severe pain or in other cases, a doctor should be consulted. Due to the drops and solutions used during the operation, blurred vision may occur as the pupil enlarges. After the operation, the doctor's recommendations must be followed. The drops or medicines given should be used exactly on schedule and for the full course.
